Is the Fairphone 5 eSIM compatible?

The Fairphone 5 supports eSIM technology, allowing you to completely forego a physical SIM card. The eSIM can be set up in the settings under "Network & Internet" and "Mobile network" – either by scanning a QR code or by manual entry.

Setting up your BuddySIM eSIM is conveniently done via QR Code Scan.

Note: The Fairphone 5 does not allow automatic APN for some eSIMs (depending on the destination country).

An APN (Access Point Name) is the access configuration your smartphone needs to connect to your provider's mobile data network.

After activation, please go to "Manage eSIM" → "Edit Access Point" and manually enter:

• APN: data.esim
• Username: BuddySIM
• Password: (leave blank)
