How do I activate an eSIM on the Xiaomi 13 Lite?
Good to know first: Setting up your BuddySIM eSIM takes two steps – installing and activating. You can install it (scan the QR code, enter the details manually or via link) any time right after purchase. The eSIM is then on your device, but not yet active.
You activate the eSIM by turning on data roaming and selecting it as the line for mobile data. Important: activation can only happen in the destination country – only there does the eSIM connect to the local network, and only then does your plan's validity period start (except for global or Europe bundles, where Germany also counts as a destination).
Important for Xiaomi, Redmi & POCO: After installing the eSIM, many devices require the access point (APN) to be entered manually for mobile data to work. Set the APN to data.esim (see last step).
- Open the Settings on your Xiaomi 13 Lite.
- Go to “SIM cards & mobile networks”.
- Choose “Add eSIM” or “Use eSIM”.
- Scan the QR code from our email – or choose “Enter code manually” and use the Android format LPA:1$[SM-DP+ address]$[activation code].
- Wait until the eSIM is added, then activate it for mobile data.
- In your destination country, turn on “Data roaming” for the BuddySIM eSIM.
- Enter APN: Go to SIM cards & mobile networks → BuddySIM eSIM → Access Point Names (APN) and set the APN to data.esim. Save, briefly turn mobile data off and on again – done!
