ℹ️ Information in advance: Before we activate your eSIM from BuddySim, we answer one of the most frequently asked questions: Info vorab: Bevor wir zur Aktivierung deiner eSIM von BuddySIM kommen, beantworten wir eine der am häufigsten gestellten Fragen: Wann soll ich die eSIM aktivieren? ► Der Prozess der Aktivierung muss in zwei Schritte unterteilt werden: das „Installieren“ der eSIM und das „Aktivieren“ der eSIM. Das Installieren ist das Scannen des Codes oder die manuelle Eingabe der eSIM auf dem Smartphone. Installieren kannst du deine BuddySIM jederzeit nach dem Kauf. Dann befindet sich die eSIM auf deinem Gerät, ist aber noch nicht „aktiviert“. Die mobilen Daten können erst im Zielland aktiviert werden. Du „aktivierst“ die eSIM, indem du Datenroaming für die eSIM einschaltest und sie als Leitung für mobile Daten auswählst. Da die Aktivierung je nach Smartphone eine aktive WLAN-Verbindung erfordert, empfehlen wir, dir die eSIM kurz vor deiner Abreise am Flughafen im WLAN erstmalig einzurichten. Das Internet wird dennoch erst im Zielland aktiviert – und auch erst dann beginnt die Laufzeit deines Pakets (außer bei einem Global- oder Europa-Bundle, da Deutschland hier ebenfalls ein Zielland ist).
2) Open the “Mobile Communications” menu item there.
3) Go to the “Add eSIM” menu item.
4) From there, select “More Options.”
5) Open the “Use QR Code” feature.
6) Scan the QR code from our email.
Note: Should an error message occur, such as”Unable to add eSIM“The eSIM is usually still successfully installed and the following steps can be continued from step 15). The eSIM is then usually called “secondary”, “business” or, for example, “travel” instead of “BuddySIM”.
7) Proceed with activation.
8) The eSIM is now automatically activated.
9) After that, the installation is complete.
10) Now rename your eSIM (the so-called label).
11) We recommend the name “BuddySIM” . ☺️
12) Then select the “Primary” line for calls.
13) Select “Primary” for iMessage & FaceTime too.
14) Then select your “BuddySIM” for mobile data. “Mobile data switching” must be OFF.
15) Under “Mobile data”, the eSIM should now be selected as the line. Then open the eSIM tab (usually) under your phone number.
16) And activate data roaming on the eSIM.
17) Switch the data mode to “Allow 5G.”
18) Your BuddySIM is now active. 🎉
Under “Roaming (current period)” You can then always see your current consumption.
