Is Fairphone 5 eSIM capable?

The Fairphone 5 supports eSIM technology and allows you to completely dispense with a physical SIM card. The eSIM can be accessed via the settings under “Network & Internet” and “Mobile network” Set up — either by Scan a QR code or via manual input.

Setting up your eSIM from BuddySim is conveniently carried out via QR code scan.

Note: The Fairphone 5 allows for some eSIMs (depending on the destination country) no automatic APN.

An APN (access point name) is the access configuration that your smartphone needs to connect to your provider's mobile data network.

After activation, please go to “Managing eSIM” → “Edit access point” and manually enter:

• APN: data.esim
• username: BuddySim
• password: (leave empty)
